Venezuela born, Portuguese fashion designer KATTY XIOMARA unveiled her new Fall/Winter 2017 collection at the Chelsea Pier fashion venue. Katty, who moved to Portugal when she was 18, studied and built her careen in Portugal. She has been showing at New York Fashion Week since 2013. Katty is the recipient of the “International Designer Award” in 2014 and in 2015, repeated this fact, as well as a new “Silver Winner” and Honarable Mentioned, among her many other awards.

 BRAND PHILOSOPHY EXECUTED

Katty’s show was a powerful line-up of 45 looks that saluted everything that’s feminine, elegant and frilly. Her frocks, coats and pant ensembles stayed true to what her brand philosophy was built on – Accessible, elegant and timeless sophistication, meticulous tailoring, structure and shapes. “My  clothes are for women who are confident about themselves and their style choices, they have a strong attitude, individual style with a romantic spirit,” noted the designer.

FABRIC AND COLOR STORY

Katty’s bold use of color and print came by way of rose tones, rich blues, deep burgundys and vibrant, artistic prints. Velvets and satins played against her delicate translucent dresses. A dotted translucent dress was fitted at the waist and flared from the hips, and, some soft ultra-feminine pieces were layered with frills. A bold blue wrap dress was highlighted by a dramatic frill running down the front. Print silk trousers were topped by sheer blouses, and a series of metallic cocktail dresses were etched in knife pleating or fashioned with kilted skirts.

BEST SHOES OF THE SEASON

Everything looked young and fresh with a defined loungewear influence running throughout the collection. The Katty Xiomara collection also boasts the ‘Best Shoes’ of the season.  Every outfit came down the long catwalk with a pair of gold metallic, pointy toe lace-up flats. Chantel Miller with the MAC PRO Team executed the trendy make-up on the models, that revealed a wine stained lip balanced by an elongated cat-eye liner.
